Last week we were snowed in and so we had no service. There was over 10 inches of snow. I look back to the days of Jesus and they did not have automobiles or snowplows and wonder what they did when it snowed so much.   The days of Jesus were so different from today since they did not have the modern conveniences that we have grown to depend on. We depend on cell phones and TV and many other things that even our parents did not have. The children can operate them better then we can. We depend on the internet and cannot function without it.  We would be lost without modern conveniences today and would not know what to do.
So many said I would like to live when Jesus lived. Would you? There would be no social security or health coverage or anything else. We would not have the modern medicine and there would not be the local supermarkets that we have today. The world was much different then. SO many things have changed even in our society in my lifetime.
I hope that as you celebrated Christmas this past week, that you remember that not only did God bring Jesus in for your sin but that HE brought Jesus into a world that was much different and that made it even more amazing for the trip and danger they had in the journey made it even harder then we would have. God did a great miracle in bringing JEsus into the world and did a greater one in being in us. So celebrate Him!

Today we are looking at the beginning of our Christmas series. We will  take a few weeks to remember and look back and prepare for the new year. Can you believe it is 2010 already? So much has happened in my life since 9/11 that it seems that time is flying at such a fast rate. We take time to go back to that first Christmas and look at what happened that day. We do not know the exact date but so many think that it could not be December. December 25th was a date picked, but no one knows for sure, except for the ones that were there.  What matters is that He came and we can have life in Him.
He was born here and God sent his Son to give to us eternal life. The prophecies of the OT came true and God sent a Son. The impossible happened. A virgin gave birth. It was not through artificial insemination for that did not occur then. God had a son. God the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary and God was now a Father. Now we can also be born in Him. HE came so you can come to him. He wanted you to also be born in Him. You could not be born in Him, until he came and was born on earth. God is alive in you, so be alive in Him.
You give gifts to each other every Christmas and look for what you get. You focus on I want this or that and we tell kids about Santa. Jesus is come so you can be forever in Him and receive from God all He has not one day a year but daily.  Let Jesus be your source and do not be discouraged or distraught. Love God and love yourself. Love others. Give to others because God first Gave to you. IF this message or any message on our site appeals to your heart then contact me at revdoncarson@verizon.net. Come to the church on Sunday morning at 11 AM at the Springfield YMCA on Springfield Ave. You can get directions from this site. Give this site to others so they too can be blessed- www.wordofgracefellowship.com - share this link with others. Send in an offering to bless us becuase of the fact that God blessed you through us this year! A ministry is only as strong as their partners and we would love to have you partner with us so that together we can do great things for the Kingdom! Amen

Dear Friends,
Right now we do have some problems that we need prayer about but God is faithful. God provides when there seems to be no way for it to occur. We need your help.  Thank God for the people that he sends to us. I know that I can count on God and bless him for his work in our lives. I do pray taht God will lead you and hope that you enjoy you this part of the series of God's character for it deals with the idea that God has a face. God has a face because God is a person and that face is in the person of Jesus Christ. God loves you when no one else will. God has a face and that person is the one that stares back at you in the mirror.
God has a face and that means that he has senses. He sees, hears, talks, feels and touches just like we do for God is a person. God is someone that you can connect with you and you can look at and God wants to make sure that you can get to know Him.  God is someone that can be recognized. Too often people who do not know him just blame him for things that he did not do. They call them acts of God. i recognize you by your face. I cannot recognize you without seeing your face. When the police show some pictures they show the faces of people so people can chose which one is it. People recognize each other by the face.
Over the next 3 months we will take some time to look at what is meant by this concept of God has a face- only pausing for Christmas to celebrate that. Take time to get to know God. Last week we said that the F stands for Faith A for Anointed Truth C for Compassion and Mercy and E for Eternal Peace. Today we start on Faith and see what it means to beleive God and what is really faith. So many things are defined as faith today. Going to church is faith. Being religious is faith. But that is not God's definition. So read the sermon today and find out what God says about faith. Let the next few weeks define for you what it means to have faith and to walk in him.
I encourage you to help us tell others about this ministry and tell them of this website. The best way to advertise is word of mouth for in the early days of the chruch that is how they spread the ministry. Give them this link www.wordofgracefellowship.com  or tell them to write me directly Pastor Don at revdoncarson@verizon.net  and Join us Sundays at 11 AM for our morning services at the Springfield YMCA

We are honored that you are visiting our web site.
We are a non- traditional church.
As such  we are always looking for new ways of getting the Gospel of grace out to new people as well as to those who currently are a part of this Fellowship.

This web site allows us to reach people we may never have been able to contact before. Everyone is welcome to attend our services, or outreach programs which include; counseling services, prayer requests, spiritual healing, spiritual warfare, and  bible study,

Please use this site to access the information you need about the church and as a resource for broadening your faith. We look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you might have.

Welcome to Word of Grace Fellowship Ministries!
Here we are dedicated to the ministry of the gospel of grace and to teach that one who is born again has been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. We teach the uncompromising word of grace and righteousness. Right now we are more of a fellowship of like-minded believers whose lives have been changed by the message of grace then a church. God has been a source of constant strength and comfort to us, as He continues to separate us from the mindset of traditional Christianity.
As you go through our pages remember that God's focus is what did Jesus do, not what would Jesus do. Jesus came to die so that by His death we could be made right with God. Once we were made right with God then God could come to live in us so we could be made one body with Jesus. God finds no fault in us, for when He sees us He sees Jesus. This is the reality of who we are as a new man in Jesus Christ.
We at Word of Grace believe that God includes women in the ministry and that God has given to every born again child of his the ministry of reconciliation, to go and bring in the lost to the kingdom of God.
We pray that as you read these pages that you will be ministered to and want to know more about us. Please feel free to contact us for we would welcome the opportunity to minister God's grace to you. May you learn about His grace and grow in the knowledge of righteousness, so that you too can walk in the freedom of Jesus Christ!
